Customer Reviews

Great tool and great customer service. This is an excellent tool. It's well designed and made. It's a great force multiplier so we get nice tight webbing. I also have to commend UJ Ramelson Co's customer service. We thought we had a shipping problem (it turned out to be our fault), they asked a few questions and then sent us a replacement. We discovered our error, notified them and returned the replacement. They were courteous, professional, and helpful throughout the process. 5 stars to customer service, too. I highly recommend them and their products. I will use UJ Ramelson Co. again, gladly. 5The handle gives great leverage and the short distance from tines to pivot ...I bought this for my first project. I watched a few videos using the less expensive type that has the tines on one end and the rubber part on the other. I had visions of impaling myself! Even on my first try, I was able to stretch the webbing very tightly with one hand and staple it with the other. The handle gives great leverage and the short distance from tines to pivot point (rubber)reduces slipping. Good tools make the learning process much easier. This was worth every extra penny I paid. Success with this first job (dining chairs) has given me the confidence to tackle others so I will get more use out of this tool than I might have the other. 5Re-webbing tool thumbs upStretched the webbing just like grandma used to. Strong tool which was use-full. I believe these gadgets come in 2 sizes, and this was the smaller if I can recall... Either would have worked. But I recommend this one instead of the cheaper shoddy model. 5Stretches well!I had to reweb 2 dining chairs. It made stretching the web easy. The metal grabbers are wide so they will leave holes in the webbing. But, since it s under the chair, it s not a problem. I m sure the other 4 dining room chairs will have to rewebbed at some point. So, this tool will come in handy again. 5The best!I'm so glad I made the choice to purchase this stretcher for my reupholstery project. It's been indispensable and very easy to use. Quality is top notch, a tool for life. 5Best $35. Ever. This tool is life for stretching and holding webbing. I found myself looking for things to stretch and hold but alas there is nothing else. Great tool. Be careful the working end is sharp. 5Easy to useTook about 2-3 first tries but then I was able to easily use this tool to stretch new webbing on two antique chairs I purchased - and I am an amateur! 5Worth every centWhile I may never find another use for this tool ever again, it was well worth the money spent. Our set of wicker furniture is old and the webbing under the cushions was cracking. (I was envisioning a scene from a TV comedy routine where our guests are one by one, falling through their chair seats and disappearing!). I did some research and found a local shop that could replace the webbing, but for around $100 per chair.... That would have been nearly $1000 just for the restrapping! After viewing some YouTube "how to" videos, I decided to purchase this tool and tackle this project ourselves. (As you can tell, my husband got roped into this project also, but to save this kind of money, he was very happy to do it.). I spent a total of $160 for all supplies. As with most projects, there was a learning curve with the first couple of chairs. Then we got the knack and were able to finish the others fairly quickly. This job would have been impossible without this tool! There is no way to stretch the webbing enough and hold it while securing it without this. This tool looks like it was lifted from some old torture chamber. It is a simple handle with spikey teeth embedded in one edge. If you are as new to using this as I was, find a YouTube video and see how it works, you'll save tons of time and effort. An additional note: the original webbing that became brittle and broke with age was a rubberized strap. That stuff is expensive. I'm not convinced we will continue to use this furniture enough years to make that kind of investment worthwhile, so I bought an alternative black plastic webbing. I had wondered if the black gauze-looking webbing would hold up, would it unravel after cutting, would the clips just pull through when sitting on it? My fears were unfounded, the cheap black webbing worked beautifully! Success! If you find this review helpful, please let me know by using the voting buttons. Through the years, I have relied on reviews to make smart purchases and now I'm trying to "pay it forward" by helping others with my reviews. Please let me know how I'm doing with your vote. Thanks!! 5Extremely sharpThis product worked great only poked my fingers a couple times they're pretty sharp watched a video to make sure I knew how to operate it stretched my jute was able to get a perfect bottom for my dining chair. My problem was being able to hold the chair bottom in place while stretching and stapling but was able to hold it under my leg with the nice handle while using my hands to hold the chair bottom with one and stapling with the other 5Perfect tool for stretchable webbingStretched the 3 webbing that was elastic/ rubber webbing for outdoor chairs. The first couple of straps I didn t stretch enough- make sure to get it tight enough so it doesn t give when sat on. The prongs are very sharp but hold the webbing tight when webbing is all the way down on the spikes. I practiced and it got easier- an excellent tool. 5
