Different!I like the foil and the ability to have the rainbow effect on projects. I didn't realize that its not very large - its unlike the other Minc foils in similar packaging. It is much smaller. Still, its very different, and gives a nice effect.I got a question from someone interested in this product asking if it could be used on fabric. I said I'd check the product information in the packaging, and sure enough, there is a reference to fabrics in the packaging. Apparently, you need some adhesive to put it on fabric. They specifically mention Decofoil adhesives - hot melt which looks like you use with an iron, foam adhesive which is just peeled and put on, and then liquid adhesive as well.4Deco Foil Transfer missing sheets of foil. Only had 4 rather than 5.The reason that I gave this product only 3 stars, is not because of the quality of the foil. The quality is fantastic, and I have made some wonderful craft projects with this product and am really happy with the results. My problem is that I was short sheets of deco foil in 3 of the tubes that I bought. In several of them, and I bought quite a few different colors at once, but I only had 4 sheets. I know they stick together but these definitely were missing sheets. So, I am feeling kind of slighted and unfortunately there isn't anything that I can do about it. I can't send them back because I have used the sheets that I did receive. So just be aware that it has happened.3Pretty good once you get the hang of it.Took some getting used to, but once you experiment a bit it comes out beautiful. I used a cheap laminater with 105# cardstock (if you use thinner paper, just send it through with cardstock under it.) I tried a few different things for the top: computer paper "folder" worked just ok, card stock on top did not allow for enough heat transfer, taped the foil to the cardstock which ended horribly with the foil creasing and wrinkling and bunching up which caused a bunch of missed spots on the toner. Best results: cover all toner areas with foil and send through laminator with nothing on top. Leave the foil loose and just cut it large enough to allow for some shift. This left minimal black spots on the finished image. If only foiling certain parts, cover what you want with foil and cut computer paper to fit over the other parts. If you send uncovered toner through a laminator it will leave marks all over your project.4Great for paper or painting crafts to add a shiny accentThe Deco Foil lines are great for shiny accents on almost any sort of craft you wish to do.For some reason, the black color seems to never be in stock at our stores, so I tried shopping online for it.For a while, it was pretty high in cost, but finally came down to the neighborhood of the other colors, andi snatched it up!If you love to scrapbook or paint, these foils add lovely accents. Note that you will need some glue to use them...these are NOT iron-on foils. I prefer the foil glue, but nearly any glue could do the job.5Love this foilI love he Deco Foils. The Deco Foils add a beautiful foil look to your project. It works in several different ways. You can use the Deco Foil glue, you can print your project out using a laser jet printer and then heat set it with a laminating machine or you can cut out your project using double sided foam craft sheets or any type of double sided adhesive sheets. You can even use foam dots or squares.5Great Foil! But Not For Detailed Work.Works very well. However, be warned that this foil is a bit stiffer than some. Because of this, it is easier (for me) to cut into precise pieces, but the foil doesn't stick to intricate designs very well. I use this foil with a laminator on laser printer ink. Some of my floral designs don't show up very well when I lift off the foil. With that said, I think this foil is a lot better than the ones I can find at my local Hobby Lobby. The hobby lobby foil instantly started to flake. When using this foil, I suggest laminating on designs that don't have a lot of details.4It Works!I purchased several colors of the Therm O Web Deco Foil and they all work very well. There are several methods you can use to adhere the foil to your project. I tried the glue method (you have to use a specific type of glue that becomes sticky once it is dry), I tried the laser print method and the double sided foam pad. They all work. the foil adds a beautiful effect to any project.5Great if you know how to use it!I had bought this with the intention to print on my printer any image I wanted, throw some foil on top of it and run it through the lamination machine. Two key points that weren't provided to me when I decided to buy a ton of foil. You MUST have a laser printer to be able to process these types of images and transfers via foil in the lamination machine. I have an inkjet printer and didn't plan on buying a new one anytime soon. Secondly, this is a great product to use if you have some form of an adhesive to be sure to ensure transfer for foil.My main purpose of buying the foil was to place my name in fancy lettering that I was going to print out on the computer and place in my planner and 'claim my planner and name it'. Unfortunately, because I misunderstood the instructions, I wasn't able to do this.However, I did find an old scrapbook glue pen laying around. I wrote my name out in glue pen and let dry for a few moments. After that, I laid a small cut piece of foil over it and ran it through the hot laminator within a sheet of computer paper to ensure the foil didn't get caught in the laminator. It worked great but wasn't the professionalism I was looking to do with the printed image. So be warned, if you come across that you can make these foil images with a just a laminator and printer, it MUST be a laser printer. Inkjet printers will not work for this.I haven't used the foil too much because I haven't had the means to buy more material to get it to be used. Another way you can use this foil other than a laser printer and transfer via the laminator is through embossing glue or adhesive sheets cut in the Cricut that is two-sided and laid on the page and foil on top to transfer the foil on it. I wish I had known all this before buying the foil and then not being able to purchase the additional things needed to use it! I guess that was my mistake without reading more about it. I just wanted to add foil deco to everything!There are lots of ways to use it, just read the reviews, and watch Youtube videos on it and you'll be able to make some great items. Just don't purchase blindly as I did. ;)In each roll, you get 5 sheets of foil that are the dimensions provided. The sheets are one-time use for the most part unless you cut exactly to the size your image is. I wish I could come up with something to do with the transfer remains of the foil with the image cut out and just have the remainder of the foil on the sheet to transfer to the outer outline of the image. Pictured above is my name written in glue pen, slightly dried, then ran with the foil sheet on top through the lamination machine on hot. It worked well, and the foil came out great. I just wish I knew better about the laser printer feature instead of thinking I could use any printer! Still the foil is amazing and can be used with just about any way you can adhere anything on a piece of paper then pressed on the adhesive leaving you a glowing shiny foil image .5Prefer mincYou get 4 sheets of foil that are maybe 12" by 5" which is good if you are doing a small job. It isn't terrible foil, its not the same as the minc foil, its a little heavier and thicker which some people prefer, but you will have to test different heat settings if you use it with the minc machine. I prefer minc foil rolls which come with a lot more, even though they cost twice as much I think you get far more than 2x the amount of foil and you can use a lower heat setting for my work with the minc.2LOVE How have I never heard of this stuff before?!?!? This stuff is AWESOME! I recently bought a laminator and found out you can use this thermo-foil on laser printed things to make them foiled! I am in complete amazement - this stuff looks awesome! No idea how I made it this far in life without knowing about this stuff.Note that it only works on paper that's printed with a LASER printer. It will not work on ink-jet printed items. But, it sticks well and doesn't rub off at all, even if you try to scratch it off, it sticks! My only complaint would be that it only comes in small pieces, but that is the same all around, I can't seem to find large rolls of it anywhere.This one is my absolute favorite, the rainbow looks awesome! For anyone who owns (or has access to) a laser printer and a laminator, do yourself a favor and buy some of this stuff. It will change your crafting life!5
