Pedal sounds great, there was an issue with the "activation" switchPedal sounds great, there was an issue with the "activation" switch. After playing with it for a couple hours, I realized I wasn't getting my natural guitar tone at all. And from what I remembered, by clicking the wah all the way forward it should turn it on then off again. After inspecting, I noticed the pad under the foot pad wasn't hitting the button. I fixed this by using a wall sticky on top of the existing pad. This gave it extra material to come down and turn the pedal on/off3The trusted original for good reason.Who would've guessed less than $80 could liven up my entire sound? The crybaby really needs no introduction. The leading wah pedal for decades, these have been used by everyone from Slash (GnR) and Jimi Hendrix to Kirk Hammett (Metallica) and Adam Jones (Tool) to achieve a wide variety of tones. My playing rests comfortably somewhere between Mr. Jones and David Gilmour, favoring expressive lines to flurries of notes and the crybaby helps me achieve just that more easily. If you're just getting into pedals in your guitar rig this is an excellent place to start. Just remember a 9v battery or a power supply, as neither are included.5Not Like the Olden pedals, But Very GoodI've owned a 1980 Thomas Organ Crybaby and a 1994 Vox Crybaby (still have them, but they don't work) and this doesn't have the classic throaty "talking" sound or feel, like the old ones, but it does the job very nicely. One plus about this vs. the older pedals is you can plug this directly into an AC adapter (older ones ran on battery only). I use this with a 57 Strat and 59 Les Paul through Vox and Marshall amplifiers and it rocks "Voodoo Child" really nicely. The rugged steel housing takes a beating and still keeps going.4Baby Maker! They call it a cry baby, because if you play with this pedal anywhere in the vicinity of your woman, (or man, if you are a woman) you'll have a crying baby in no time. So, you might want to invest in birth control at the same time...just a heads up5Great wah effect pedalGreat wah effect pedal.I was a little iffy about purchasing this pedal due to it's price range.Definitely worth it, As soon as I opened the package I could feel how heavy the Dunlop Crybaby pedal was.Made out of metal and seems to be very durable.Plugged it in and ran my Ibanez Ts9 with it and I was hooked. All and all I am satisfied with the purchase.5Lots of FunThis is the real deal. No bells and whistles. You can get a cool "wah" out of it or just move it to a certain position to get a great effect (there's a name for that, I just can't remember it). Also lots of fun just to screw around with and drive your wife crazy. Built like a brick .... house. Highly recommended.5It might not be the trendy pedal this week but who cares what the hipsters are using anyhow...If you want to use a pedal that's probably only slightly different than what they were using back in the 60s then this is your pedal. Built like a tank. Heavy. Sturdy. Classic effect. Can't complain in the slightest.5This is a good starting out wah just so you can get used ...Must have for any guitarist. This is the first original crybaby I've owned, past has been the 535Q. This is a good starting out wah just so you can get used to it and to experiment with. It does have a weird bass to treble transition at about midway toe down, not as smooth sounding as the 535Q, but still a great legendary pedal.5Very easy to use and just amazing soundsVery easy to use and just amazing sounds. After setting it up with my rig, I spend a couple hours just monkeying around with it. I'm not Hendrix, but this pedal gives some hope. Both my kids came in the room and watched me play, mesmerized at the goofy things I was trying. The wife came, stood in the doorway, sighed and shook her head. This is awesome and so much fun.5Tone Sucker, Nevertheless a fantastic pedalWhile the functionality of the wah itself is top notch, it has a noticeable impact on your tone even when it s in the off position. It seems to suck out some mids or something I can t really put my finger on it but it kind of sounds like if you were to kick the pedal on, and then find the most neutral position on the rocker. It s very minor though, just something that should be noted. Also, it kind of sounded funny in front of all my modeling amps, but it sounds amazing in front my EVH 5150 tube amp (I play a lot of hard rock and metal, think Alice In Chains and Kirk Hammett). With my tube amp I m able to replicate Hammett s wah-drenched fills in Enter Sandman, and Jerry Cantrell s solos very well. It should just be noted that for some reason it just didn t sound right to me with the heavy distortion tones of the modeling amps.4
