    Warmer Tone than Super BulletsI use Fender's Bullet Strings exclusively for my American Strat because they're made to fit perfectly into the Strat bridge. I don't like the way ball end strings fit in there sort of haphazardly. Bullets go into the bridge perfectly every time and provide consistency.I have tried the Super Bullets which have a steel core, and I like them but I found their sound to be too edgy and sharp for my style.The Fender Original Bullet Strings in 9 Gauge can have a warmer, almost bluesy tone when I want them to, can do some country fill, and also sound good with overdrive. Being in a classic rock/country cover band and only having one axe on stage with me, I like that these strings can be versatile. I have found that I really like these strings and see no reason to change. Rock on, Fender! 5Feel great but don't lastI normally use DR Pure Blues for all my guitars, but when I purchased a new Fender American Stratocaster, I figured I'd stick with the Fender theme and get these Fender strings. I put them them on and immediately liked the tone and feel of them (I tend to prefer pure nickel to nickel-coated). They felt really nice and had a sparkly tone to them. In less than two weeks they had dulled and tarnished, though. It was very disappointing, as I really liked them. Maybe it was a bad set, but I hate to spend the money to find out.4Be careful with the high (thin) stringsIn 15 years of restringing my guitars I've only broken one a couple of times and these Fender Bullets are notorious - at least to me - for breaking when changing strings. I bought them because the bullet ends really are superior when you're using a Fender tremolo like on a Strat (I don't see a use for them on hard tails like Telecasters). So I strung up my guitar, got it to pitch, then cut off the excess. As soon as I got the high E (0.9) to pitch it unwound in the tuner and I had to rewind it over and over. I wish I hadn't cut the excess off by then.I love the bullets, think they really are the best string for tremolo equipped guitars but I think they're a little shorter than other strings I've bought in the past (usually I use Super Slinkys). I didn't measure but I get far more winds around the peg on the thinner strings with other strings. That said, even though my string breakage could possibly be partly my fault, I'm pissed at how frequently they break on me.4Sleeper strings, warmer tone and easier bendsI only found out about these because they were the stock strings on a 59 reissue I fell in love with. Changed the strings to my go to d addario and the magic was gone. The guitar was thinner and harder to bend. Put these back on and it felt right again. In my experience they sound warmer than most popular nickel wound strings and have less tension for a given size. I use them on my strats.5Poor Quality Control for Fender Strings.Poor quality control... I put these on my telecaster and the high e string has a defective that causes extreme fret buzz.If you look in the picture, you cannot see there is a dab of metal soldered on the string or something that is the issue.I didn't return but will definitely be asking for a refund as the e string in this condition is unplayable and I'm out 8$.1Very good stringsI think these are under rated strings.I got them to put on my Squier since it came strung with these from the factory. From what I've read, they are D'Addario strings just made to Fender's specs. Based on personal experience with both strings, I feel like the difference is really just the tension - these are a bit easier to bend and not as stiff as D'Addario strings. Other than that I really can't tell any difference between the two in playing them. I would think you could use either/or depending on your personal taste. But these are not "cheapo" strings. They sound great and play well and are easy on the fingers.5Pure Nickel BulletsThese strings are nickel which greatly reduces fret and saddle wear and they sound good. If you are using stainless steel strings you are wearing those two critical guitar components down and they will eventually have to be replaced. Saddles are easy to replace fret wire can be costly as that type of work is best left to the experts which with it comes an added cost to the player.\So I (and many others) play nickel.Bullet end? If you are playing a Stratocaster with a tremolo bridge the bullets are designed to fit into the string receivers in the trem block and in effect add more mass to the tremolo block which adds and aids the transfer of tone to the guitar as a whole.Those two beneficial features alone convinced me to give these an honest try and over time (I've been using these for years) have proven to me to be the optimal string for the Stratocaster.These are durable. Do they last? Well, yes they do. I rotate guitars on the gigs so I would say that if I was using the strat exclusively and playing it as much as I do through the week - I end up changing them out every 2 to 3 weeks and I'm playing 4 nights per week not including rehearsal or noodling around and I put them through a rigorous workout.What would that equate to in hours? Hmmm... 60 to 80 hours perhaps, maybe a bit more. Add to that sweat, natural oils, oxidation, and that I don't use cleaners or chems on the strings, although I do wipe them down after a playing with a dry shop towel.5Great value for pure nickel stringsJust put a medium set of these on a recently acquired G&L Legacy (strat) that I wasn't bonding with. Guitar had a brand new set of some sort of hybrids on it that included .009s on the high strings. Light strings on a strat-style guitar do nothing for me. Normally I put Ernie Ball nickels on my guitars but in this case I wanted something a bit heavier along the lines of a medium, which Ernie Ball doesn't seem to offer in a .011 size. Stumbled across these nickels by Fender in .011 size and they sound great! Totally transformed the guitar and now I feel like it responds to my playing style much better. Planning on ordering a bunch more sets of these for the rest of my collection. Can't beat the price, either. Pure nickels are the way to go.5Would love these in a heavier gaugeI have numb fingers. Suffered a spinal cord injury years ago and playing fingerstyle guitar helps my tactile sense and coordination. I like these strings. I got them along with a set of Raw Vintage bridge springs hoping to fatten the tone of my 05 American Deluxe Stratocaster. I changed springs and strings the day they arrived and was immediately impressed with the difference. Noticeable improvement in tuning stability (I tune a half step down). Also they hold up well to my bending/trem arm stunts. A good choice for strat players. Not a complaint, but I d like a heavier gauge. I ll always be an acoustic guitar player first and 13 or 14s feel better to my fingers.5The strings for StratsAfter 20 plus years of playing I've tried every brand and every gimmick of guitar string out there. The coated Nanowebs & Clear Tones, the different alloy formulas like the cobalts and platinums and the mix & match heavy top/light bottoms. To me nickel wound or straight nickel strings are the best for electrics, but for Strats in particular the Fender Bullets are my favorites.The marketing device of the bullet ends making the strings sustain more with the trem block is true. I can hear the difference on my main Strat from using like Ernie Balls & D'addario's to the Bullets. Their not necessarily brighter, just more defined with better sustain.If you have a Gibson Les Paul or an ES style electric then the bullet ends may not make the big difference they would in a Strat or strung through body Telecaster. If you do have a Fender Strat or Tele, try them at least once to see if the difference suits your style & sound.5
