Sounds good so farSounds good so far. Seems built well, should last with reasonable care. Should survive gigs on a pedal-board. I wouldn't drop a cab on it.I like that it can be dialed back for a chorus sound. With hot pickups you can get a little of the jet sound but not a full roar.Only drawback is the yuuuuuuge chunk of rubber glued inside the battery compartment. It's too thick. Hopefully Joyo reads these reviews on occasion and can address it. All in all a kickass value so far. Also, no tone alteration and dead quiet as is my other Joyo. Bypass is good.Battery pressing on circuit board, not so good. 4/5!4Solid, sounds great, but the graphics . . .I just bought this through amazon, and I would first like to note that the graphics in the listing might differ from the graphics on the pedal you receive. That turned out fine because the karate move graphics were pictured, but I got the jet plane graphics, which I prefer. It doesn't matter, because the first thing I did was sand the whole enclosure and replaced the knobs, which was pretty easy (45 minutes of sanding at the most). Looks aren't everything, but they're something. From the reviews (on amazon and elsewhere), I expected a good, solid flanger, and that is precisely what this is. I had an early 80s Ibanez FL9, which is capable of the rich phasey and lush chorus sounds, but not of the flangey swoosh or metallic clank I was looking for (for lack of better words). Joyo has all of it: the swooshes, swirls, and robot-voice clanks (i.e., short delay). My impression after a couple of days of playing with it is that it has everything I'm looking for in a flanger (see caveat next paragraph). If I were a gigging guitarist, I would consider spending $80-$100 more for a better flanger, but based on my experience with flangers (I have owned a In Line Effects Flanger, a Boss BF2 and an Ibanez FL9, and now this), it's the best flanger for the price. That is, don't expect to pay just $20 more for a noticeably better flanger. But......it depends on what you're looking for in a flanger. I mostly use it at low settings to thicken the sound a bit, and I occasionally introduce a bit of clanky short Delay with the Regen knob turned up a bit for some King's X sounds. A stereo option would be cool, but so would a second amp to play it through. If that's something you're looking for, then spending a bit more on a stereo flanger wouldn't be a bad idea. If not, I heartily recommend this one.5Everything about it is PerfectAverage size pedal with Nice appearance, Quality Parts & HousingSubtle Classic Flange sound thatdoesn't get outrageous, and the unit is quiet_ You get the Jet sweeps and all but it's controls are on the mild side as your setting the knobs to take it for a test spin which I really like_ it's not built to win the Flange Olympics but if you want just a good honest classic Flange sound - look no further_ it's just great in every way_ Take this baby for a Rocket Ride !I have a 4 Pedal board running in this order....Way Huge Angry Troll (Signal/Gain Boost)Way Huge Swollen Pickle (Fuzz)Joyo Classic FlangerCaline Orange Burst (Overdrive)....running into a Zack Wilde Edition Marshall Mini Stack .... And everything sounds great5I love this pedal!A flanger pedal is something I don't need very often, so spending hundreds on one seems silly. I did a lot of research before buying this, and I think I made the right choice! It seems well made and sounds terrific! There are a lot of comparison videos online, watch them and you'll see how this pedal sounds better than many of the expensive ones out there. I've stacked this with overdrive and reverb and get a cool "Catherine Wheel" type sound. Buy it, you won't be sorry.5A good flanger for a great priceOverall, I am happy with this flanger. It works as advertised and sounds good. Noise is low and the range of sounds is wide. I bought this as a backup to my EVH flanger and it compares fairly well, hence my 4/5 star rating. Of course it will not sound like the EVH or MXR flangers as this appears to be based on or is a copy of the Ibanez FL9. So the deduction of a star is not the fault of the flanger. I was hoping this flanger would be a perfect backup to my EVH, but that is unrealistic. What is realistic is this is a good flanger in it's own right. So the character of the flange is not as dramatic as the EVH or MXR. If you want that sound you will have to get one of those flangers. If you are happy with close enough or if you like the older Boss and Ibanez flangers, this would be a 5 star pedal. All in all, I highly recommend this for a cheap but useful flanger with good quality.4WHAT A MEME PEDAL Ok, so I'm not sure my pedal is a defect or not, considering its behavior, but *oh man* is it fun to play with. When configured normally, the pedal acts like a standard (but good) flanger, especially for the price. HOWEVER, with the Regen knob at maximum, the thing starts to generate its own waveform and start wailing its own feedback and noise. And WOW is it fun to mess with.To the regular player, this pedal is pretty nice. However, to a noise musician (or someone trying to get into that), there's literally no way you could spend 40 dollars better.5Great flanger - bargain for the tonal rangeMy first foray into flangers.I really like this pedal - very well made, solid feel and cool graphics. Looks good on my pedal board. Generates a huge range of tones. Seems a great inexpensive first pedal for someone new to flangers who is trying to work out what sounds they produce and how to produce them - just what I was after.Nothing bad to say at all, just misses out on 5 stars because:- Footprint is large, can't see why it needs to be this big- Dials are a bit small and close together (especially given above)- Power goes in right next to the signal input, means I can't get as much flexibility over the cabling path as I'd like.As said, those are minor points. I've been really impressed with Joyo - they have a cheap price point and make sgood products for that point. Yes, you can buy better products, but for the money this is a great flanger. Also, Harrier Jump Jets are awesome.4just OKI have the joyo phaser and the classic chorus and both of those are five star pedals, so I had high hopes for this one. I tried it in several configurations and with different guitars and it is hard to get a good sound out of it. I sounds better before overdrive , not after. I get close to the unchained sound but with a big "woosh" sound at the end of the sweep. Getting rid of that woosh makes it sound less like the tone in other respects. Try the phaser and the classic chorus first.2Decent pedal for the price... but has a few quirks!I like this pedal...THE GOOD: VERY CHEAP for a pretty serviceable pedal. Good tone and good overall control over the type of flange you want. I play Guitar and Bass, I bought this for Bass but it sounds good on both.THE BAD: A couple knobs are harder to turn, probably due to cheap pots and knobs. The bypass button is one of the snap on snap off type, unlike higher end pedals that have the same style button but are a softer press. this is irritating when pairing it with higher end pedals and its the only one you have to mash on. The worst part of the pedal is that the 9V AC receptacle is in the STUPIDEST spot. It's right above the 1/4" input making it impossible for cable management if you use angled patch cables for your pedals like everyone on the planet. The power is right in the way and makes the patch cable stand up. Not a deal breaker, just irritating (see picture).OVERALL: The bad definitely doesn't outweigh the good. It has it's flaws but for the price you would be able to overlook the minor issues to get a solid cheap effects pedal.4Subtle but quite usable. The JF-07 Classic Flanger is NOT the flanger for you if you are seeking the classic EVH flanging tones. It's best used for more subtle needs, and does a good job in this guise. My only complaint is the same as many others; the 9VDC power supply jack IS IN THE WRONG PLACE! The jack should be located at the top of the enclosure, IMHO. The location on the side, in close proximity to the 1/4" input jack, makes cable routing inconvenient, and, with some cables, difficult or almost impossible.3
