Mine didn't last long.....bought mine in early November. It worked so-so when I used it the first month with a LIGHT WEIGHT mic (I'm using this for a boom for my Ham Radio mics). Then....i switched to a slightly heavier mic, the Heil PR 781, It slowly but surely started bending the metal post that slips into the clamp mount.....and so....slowly but surely...as it kept bending that metal post (with use).....it kept drooping more and more...until this last weekend (mid Feb...less than 3 months later)....it failed. It broke at the point where that metal pin/post mounts into the clamp. So I ordered another one of these https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B076ZKGZ5X/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 . They seem to be better built....are rated for more weight (as in a heavier mic)....and only cost a few bucks more. I had bought one of these one week after I bought the Neewer boom....and it is better quality...works better...and has held up fine. For heavier mics, I would NOT recommend the Neewer. Mine is in the trash after just a bit over 3 months!2PerfectI honestly wasn't expecting this to be very quality for how cheap it is, but this thing is great. The included shock mount fits my AT2020 PERFECTLY, and the arm stays at absolutely any angle or height you put it at. I was a bit disappointed that the XLR cable couldn't be removed in a non-destructive way (my AT2020 is a USB model, so no need for XLR in my application), but it pulled right out after cutting it in the middle - I'm just guiding the USB cable with some velcro cable ties. You could be a smarter person than I and just buy one without the XLR cable to begin with, of course.Overall, really great product at this price point. Neewar makes some good, inexpensive mounts, and I'm glad to see that has carried over to their mic stands as well.5Yes, this DOES hold a Blue Yeti just fine.I recently got this arm to go along with my new Blue Yeti as I wanted a boom arm that would work but wouldn't break the bank. After reading all the mixed reviews about this thing for it's compatibility with the Yeti I decided to go for it.First off it's a pretty solid arm. Yes, it could be better but for the price and the accessories you get with it I think it's a steal. You get the 5/8" - 3/8" adapter with it. I've seen people say that it doesn't include one but it's screwed into the shockmount that's included. The Yeti's a mammoth of a microphone but it holds it in a comfortable position in front of my face while I'm streaming or just talking with friends in Voice comms. If you aren't going to be using the XLR cable you will need to cut it off as there seems to no way to separate it from the unit otherwise.I'm very happy with the arm so far and will update if anything changes. But from what I can tell it's a very good arm for the price and if you aren't willing to shell out 100 dollars for a very good arm I think this will suffice for just about everyone. I hope this helps answer any question people have about whether or not they should get it with the Yeti. My answer as it sits is a firm YES.5Durable and Secured Stand for MicrophoneThe only dilemma I would have is if there was a white version of the product, but then there is also the trouble of having it easier to be damaged and dirtied. All in all, the product serves it's purpose! What I do love is that there is no drilling and all that hassle and the wires on the suspension stand itself is hidden within the attachments. This makes the view a bit more neater and functionality as I do not have to worry about enough dangling wires that I currently have LOLz.We'll see how this item holds, and if it does fall apart, I will come update and let them have a taste of their nugget that they given me. So far, the item seems very durable, and mostly requires twist and turn to make it come together. If the stand is wobbling, tighten the bottom part of the screw that is attached to the table and give it a good shake to make sure it is tightened secured or else there would definitely be a mic accident. Ouchie!Every part of the stand is bendable so it is quite flexible in being adjusted to however tall or short we are sitting, and whatever angle many of us might be trying.Though, really follow the sit up direction so there is unforeseen damage to microphones, which I know definitely does cost quite a bit into some's budget.4Great stand for the price $$I ordered it, and got it the same day, so I was really happy about that. The setup was simple enough, and it fit on my desk perfectly. It articulates well, and doesn't make too much noise. For me, this is a placeholder until I can get a Rode arm stand, but it serves its purpose well, and only ONE complaint with it.That would be the built-in XLR cable.1. I'm not sure about the quality of the cable itself. It SEEMS adequate enough, but I have my own cable which brings me to my second issue with it.2. There is no way to remove the cable without cutting it, and there is no way to place your own cable inside the metal. If that was an option, it would've been better. My solution to this is to cut off the cable it came with, and use my own cable, and secure it with my cable ties that I have already. Like hoe it is done with the Rode version.Pros: The price is great for what you're getting. It will get you up, and running in no time flat. You can position the microphone any way you need it that works for you without much trouble. Attaching a pop-filter was a bit of an issue since the metal arms are very thin, but I got it to work, eventually.Overall, this is a great stand that frees your hands to operate your studio equipment with ease. Would buy again.4Perfect for AT2020For the money this thing is AWESOME. I'm using for my AT2020 microphone and it holds up perfectly under weight. I also the Dragonpad MB9RG pop filter which is a pretty big pop filter attached to the end of it amd even with that weight added it works beautifully. My AT2020 is the USB version so I didn't need the XLR extension that's installed inside the boom arm so I cut the head of the XLR cable and pulled it out.5Like a bad relationship...weak and clingyI screwed this boom to a shelf. So far so good. Then, I attached my condenser mic to the boom. Since the mic and boom are of the same brand I assumed this meant it would have been tested at the factory and be a perfect fit. However, things went south pretty fast after that. Once the mic was attached to the boom I noticed that, either my mic was too heavy or the boom was too weak. The combination just wasn't a good fit. So I began to release my mic from the boom at which time I realized the biggest problem with this boom. The connection that affixes the mic to the boom wouldn't let go. The release button was defective. Of course it connected just fine, never giving me a reason to think that I had just made this biggest mistake of my life. I had to use extreme force on the button and my mic to extract it. I haven't read all the reviews and maybe others are reporting this same problem. This might have been just a single defective unit. I hope the company destroys this unit when they receive my return. I wouldn't want anyone else getting this one.I returned this mic boom after one use. There are so many problems with this mic boom that I suggest finding a different solution. Problem 1: after clamping to several different tables, shelves, etc, I never felt confident that this boom had a solid hold and wouldn't crash to the floor, destroying my mic.1A little wobbly, but it seems to hold up nicely. Its a good stand for the price. I havent had it for very long but it seems to hold up pretty well. Only complaint is the spring creak and pop a little and i have to tighten the different parts every now and then.4Better built than I could have imagined. All around 100% awesome.I say that my user name is AndroidVageta in the video but it's actually R.Vater in the written reviews. Woops!NOTE: Microphone used for testing is the M-Audio USB Producer. It features all metal construction (ZERO plastic anywhere) and weights 2 pounds based on all sources I can see (I'd believe it). I don't have an actual scale so I can't say for sure.Well let's see here. Before I go into detail I want to list all the parts that are plastic. IF the part is NOT listed then it is metal. I've checked everything here so this is a detailed list.Plastic:- Both crank knobs (knobs ONLY) on base/arm holder. Everything else is metal.- Four of the eight posts that hold the springs are plastic (though I would assume they have metal posts inside - certainly feels like it).- The non-shock mic holder. It's entirely plastic (though thick and strong so no worries there).THAT'S IT! The entire arm, the ENTIRE shock mount, all the joints and pivot points are 100% completely metal and VERY well made.I have no doubt that you would have any issues with the actual reliability of this product. No I will list all the points of articulation:- The base swivels left and right.- The arm bends back and forth at the base, two places at the elbow, and one place at the end (just like a standard desk lamp).- The mic holder moves up and down and also rotates. So basically it'll move however you want. Only thing I would LIKE to see would be a ball joint on the mic so that I could move it left and right but other than that it should move however you need it to.The arm seems like the weight of the mic will be the least of your worries. The base articulation point is solid and very tight (despite the lack of a tightening bolt). So no issues there. The mid-section also is very tight...so tight in fact that even with the tightening bolt all the way lose it STILL holds my mic very well. So yeah, weight doesn't SEEM like it should be an issue here at all.***Now as far as mic weight and size goes I can't comment on them all. As with ALL things in life YOUR MILEAGE MAY VARY. I can only comment on MY experiences with this product.***Now the shock mount is very good. It holds my USB Producer very snug and I have no issues with it. I will say that my mic size would definitely be on the upper limit of what it could support but my mic is by no means thin or narrow (roughly 2-inches wide). Also, as I mentioned above it is fully metal through and through. The inside of the actual holder has some dense foam as well so no scratches on your mic or anything. I unfortunately don't have a "standard" mic so I can't test that holder. As I said above though it is all plastic but it's thick and quality plastic so I wouldn't see it being an issue. Unlike the shock mount though it does not rely on hand adjustable tightening but instead on a Philips head screw. The included cable seems very well made (both connectors are metal - see a trend? :-p) HOWEVER my mic is USB so I can't comment on the actual sound quality of it at all but, yes, it does seem to be at the very least a quality cable, especially for the price.I actually did end up removing it (by cutting one end off) and put in a USB cable. All I did was cut the end off a USB cable, routed it through the arm (which is very easy to do...it isn't a super tight fit or anything), spliced the connector back on and the slid the spliced part through the arm. So in the end it looks pro and looks like it came this way. Very cool.So over all. Is this a 5-star product? Would I easy recommend this to other people? DEFINITELY! I can honestly say that there is no way I could be more happy with this product for the price. It looks pro, feels pro, and functions all pro. This is a VERY well made product and I have no doubt that with my uses it will remain a great product for YEARS to come. Thanks Neewer! You have just gained a customer for life!5Overall, great product!Nothing bad to talk about this stand! It's super stable and is more than able to rotate and bend comfortably. For anyone looking to use this for voice over work or just overall recording the only thing I would suggest is......don't smack the table while your recording #protip also the shipping was super fast, loved it!5
