Made a big job go fast - love it This tool was perfect for cutting circles from fabric. I had no problems with the fabric slipping as I turned it. I was able to cut through 10 layers of netting at once using this, which made my project go so much faster since I had about 110 circles to cut. I had it all done in next to no time! I did watch a video on how to use the cutter before I tried it for the first time, so that probably helped make my first try go more easily. I highly recommend this tool if you need to cut circles from fabric or paper. The adjustable sizing for the circles is great too. 5Works well if you tighten the radius adjustment knob with a pliers. Used for cutting aluminum foil circles for microwave Fresnel Zone Plate antennas. As others have reported it doesn't cut round circles. Discovered most or all of that problem is due to the radius adjustment slipping. You just can't finger-tighten it enough with the little knob. Problem went away when I used a pliers to tighten that knob. 4Easy to adjust, easy to use after brief learning curve I finally splurged ant got myself this circle cutter. It a few tries to get used to how it works. I have to be careful how I hold the pin down so it doesn't move around when I rotate the cutting blade. Once I got that down it is easy to use and works great. You do have to go around a couple times to get through thicker paper. You can get through 2 thin/medium weight pages, but definitely can't do three :) If using thicker pages you better stick to one at a time. I haven't had to replace the blade yet so I can't speak to that.Easy to adjust, easy to cover the pin and blade. I love that the blade cover is attached to the device so it can't get lost. (The bin cover does come off, so in theory could get lost, but hasn't yet). 5Cuts perfect cirlces in different kinds of fabric I got this to use for sewing purposes. It works great! I wish I had bought it earlier. It cuts through felt (cheap kind), fleece, and cotton fabric very well. It takes a little practice to work out the best moves for smooth movement. I do wish it cut 1 inch circles, would be perfect for some felt projects but that's really nitpicking.Downside: it tears up your cutting mat. Luckily I used an old one and wasn't too sad about it but it made quite deep gouges (more than a rotary cutter). Of course I might have been pressing too hard. However, this meant that the fabric would snag, move around, or the cutting circle cutter would leave pieces still attached if you tried to cut over the gouges. I've looked at a couple local fabric stores and they don't sell the replacement blades for these that I could find. They don't seem that expensive online though. Overall, great product. 5This is my favorite tool purchase in many years This is my favorite tool purchase in many years. It works great! I cut 168 circles for a quilt in about 45 minutes. The last time I cut that many circles with a template and rotary cutter it took a day and a half. Can't tell you how great this tool is, love it! 5A fun gadget. This is a fun little gadget. It works pretty well, but it's not super-easy to do a perfect circle on fabrics that stretch. Practice helps, so maybe practice cutting up scrap fabrics or old t-shirts to make coasters or something. I bought it to cut circles out of felted wool. It's kinda fun once you get the hang of it. Let's just say I have a lot more fabric circles than I really need... 4It works, but my hands are so sore. This product works fine for me. I m using heavy duty cardstock and so far I ve cut 100 circles with it and I think I need to replace the blade before the do the next 100. I will say that it s faster and neater than using scissors, but has other small pitfalls. It is NOT comfortable to use by any stretch of the imagination. My hands feel pretty torn up. At some point about half way through I ended up wrapping part of a sponge around the handle and trying to hold it by that. I also wish it spin both ways because if I miss a bit I have to swing the arm all the way around to get it.I understand what some are saying about there being a wobble, but if you re paying attention and using consistent force all the way around it s not really an issue. I used a cutting mat and pressed the pointed center anchor all the way into the mat to secure it.I m purchasing a pack of extra blades to help finish my project. 4U will need some practice I bought the Olfa rotary cutting tool, pack of 2 extra blades and the 6x8 green mat. I bought it to cut out Valentine's day tags that were printed on matte photo paper. Here's my review...This cutter works super well, after you've practiced a bit that is. When I had first gotten it I was really upset and felt like throwing it away. The circles just weren't coming out with smooth edges. The edges were all jagged and I was ripping the center of the circle with the pivoting needle. I decided to calm down and exercise some patience. This is how i made it work:1. Put the needle at the center of the hole2. Position the cutting blade on the edge of the circle, press it in, making sure it penetrates the paper. U will hear it cut thru the paper (on thinner papers maybe not)3. Then just rotate the entire paper and mat instead of the cutter itself. Hold the cutter stationary and firmly.4. The result, more than a hundred, perfectly cut out 2-inch round Valentine's day tags in less than half an hour - something you're not likely to achieve with a scissors. My wife is able to do it the way it is advertised, using just one hand and rotating the cutter back and forth and all around till the circle is cut out. But like I said, it will take some practice and u will find what works for you.Ps - if your circles to cut are already printed out and u don't have a mark on the dead center of the circle, u will need to size the radius on the cutter itself just a tiny bit smaller than the true radius on the printed circles. So when u cut, u will end up sacrificing the outside edges of your printed circles. It's just a thin strip u will be losing but it's better than having to use the true radius of your printed circles and then end up with a tag that encompasses some white background paper. Try to imagine what I'm saying.Good luck circle cutters ! 5PRACTICE, PRACTICE =HAPPY I watched some videos and my first attempts weren't good. A few sheets of copy paper later I gained confidence. I practiced on scrap material to test how much pressure I needed and HOW to CENTER correctly. Measure to the center from each side, lightly place the needle and measure top to bottom., adjust to center. I print on fabric so I put some extra pressure when planting the needle. It helps when you need to go around more than once. TIPS: In the pic the center one is paper. I lock in my diameter before moving to fabric. I have a two sided mat with a blank back. I use that side for any cutting that doesn't require using the lines. Makes the "working side" last longer. BUY GOOD BLADES-Pay the price or complain when you're asked to review! 5GREAT tool for any crafter I would be LOST without this little tool. I make toys for a living and cutting circles is time consuming and you always worry that you're going to get it slightly wrong and then have to start over. Not with this tool.My only recommendation is - when you put the fabric down on the self-healing pad - you might want to try a bit of spray on glue on the board to keep the fabric from sliding/moving. Felt and heavy fabric is fine, but cotton tends to shift. Make sure you really dig that middle pin into the board or it will move. Order blades at same time and save money. 5
