Perfect Size for small projectsThe album is exactly as pictured. A picture is worth a thousand words I was always told. This was perfect for me to do small project for my husband when he broke his leg and everyone kept asking about his progress. I put it into pictures. The 4 X 6 slots were perfect.5I wish I could have given this a better review because opening the pages of this book and ...I wish I could have given this a better review because opening the pages of this book and working on this album has been a big part of dealing with my grief, but my heart is hurting. I bought this to create a scrapbook in memory of my twin sons who died last year in the NICU at 1 and 3 days old. When I went to expand this album and add more inserts, the top post would not come out. I think that when it was put together, the screw was stripped :( . Now, I have to buy something else otherwise the book for my baby boys will be incomplete. Hopefully I'll have better luck with the three ring binder version I just ordered.2Beautiful and flexibleWe were looking for a photo album that would fit up to a 8x10. The 8 1/2x11 does that wonderfully, even leaving space for writing if you would like. I chose to by photo corners to place the pictures on the pages (included) that go in the sleeves (included) as I do not like gluing and taping pictures. A wonderful part of this album is that it is expandable so while everything fit into the album we got, we have lots of room to add and expand as we discover other pictures or get others. Because of the page-sleeve set-up, it allows for easy customization (scrapbook style) and pages can easily be moved around. The color in the picture was also very true to life (we got the lighter blue album).5Quintessential Memory/Photo/Scrapbook Album!Great price for the quintessential photo/scrapbook album! Venerable, high quality and highly attractive... replacement or additional expansion posts, sleeves, and inserts readily available. I have employed nearly two dozen of these wonderful albums for collecting school work, sports, extra curricular, collegiate, pet, and vacation histories and cannot add enough superlatives to accurately describe how pleased I am with their sturdy construction, longevity, and cosmetic appearance!5Inconvenient and not user-friendlyI bought this 12x12 album in red to create a Christmas album for my daughter, one to which we could add every year in the holiday season. I also bought several packs of additional pages to add, so we'd have that option if the item were discontinued. Aside from it being red and large enough for lots of photos, it's not at all what I wanted. In order to add more pages, the posts don't easily unscrew as is stated you have to insert screwdrivers in both sides of the binding to hold one side in place while the other side comes unscrewed. The paper inserts are flimsy, and it's not clear how well they'll hold together with photos actually attached. The whole things feels flimsy and cheap, and I do not recommend this product at all.1Pretty color too (I got the lavender one)Just as described. Pretty color too (I got the lavender one). Used it to make a scrapbook as a party was going on. Taking the plastic covers out was a pain (wanted to remove the index page) and I can imagine adding pages might be difficult. Easier with someone helping to hold them in place over one screw while you place them on the other. But I did it alone so it can be done. The pages for the pictures slip right out of the plastic covers so if you're happy with the amount you get you won't have to deal with that. It was perfect for what I was looking for.5Great!I'm very pleased with these albums! They have great overall features and are easy to use. The binding has a piece folded over to "hide" the post screw heads In the front and the back. The page protectors are the perfect size for slipping in 8X10 photos, with the fit not too tight or loose. They are easy to move pictures into other pages, but they don't move around when you are done. A centered photo will have a little less than 1/2" of the page insert showing on each side, and maybe 1/2" showing at the top and bottom of the page.The front photo window can be loaded from the back of the album cover, and has a plastic sleeve to protect the photo. There is a notch at the top of the photo slot so you can easily remove/add a picture.The option to expand and add more pages is great. The fabric covering the outside binding has long holes so you can make the album much thicker. Each album comes with some extra fabric so that your binding won't have holes when you are done adding expansions.I needed a lot of pages, so I also purchased:Pioneer Postbound Top Loading Page ProtectorsPioneer Auto Mounts Dispenser with Double Sided Self Adhesive SquaresThe only trouble I had with adding expansions was that when you unscrew the posts, the original post in the album may come detached, and leave you with loose page corners that you have to straighten again in order to reassemble the book. This can be avoided by 1) tightening the posts onto the screws in the front of the binding 2) not tightening the back binding screws too tight, and 3) deciding right away how much expansion you need. (also, paying attention when adding extra pages that the opening is at the top, not the bottom).I added 3 expansions (5 pages each) to the album, This required only one post extension. Each pack of extra pages comes with two sets of post extenders, one for each post, and some spacers so your pages are able to turn, so I ended up with extra post extenders.Overall, I'm very happy with these, and would recommend them to anyone looking for anexpandable photo album, especially one with a front picture window!4The book is beautiful but they used a horrid sticker on the corner ...The book is beautiful but they used a horrid sticker on the corner and the glue won't come off. I purchased it as a gift. Now I'm not sure what to do, I might just remove the protective cover. Not very many pages either.3Decent, but not for people looking for high qualityThe slip for the inside cover is quite a bit less secure than I'd like it to be (the plastic cover for it is quite large, but the photo space on the front is much smaller - I measured just under 4" on the 8x8, and the fabric sleeve doesn't hold the plastic in place too well). I'm a bit confused by the included instructions for adding pages but my mother, who is an avid scrapbooker, understood them after a moment of confusion.Overall: if you need a scrapbook for something small, this isn't a bad option. However, if you intend on adding pages, you'll need to do additional research or ask someone who knows how as it's not easy. If you're a serious scrapbooker or making/buying for someone who is, this isn't the option for you, as it's noticeably different from the high quality scrapbooks I see my mom using. Works well enough for my gift project, though.4The cover was extremely wrinkledThe cover was extremely wrinkled and looks awful. Not something I will be able to gift to anyone as it is too embarrassing. I attached a photo of it next to another one I have from a while back. You can clearly see the difference.2
