Basic strap, good valueThis is the most fundamentally basic strap and priced accordingly. Needed a cheap strap for my daughter's cheap guitar and this fit the bill nicely. It goes on easily and seems secure. I can tell that it will not last significant removals, but she won't be needing to do that. We even leave it on when she bags the guitar. With her guitar being very light, the width and lack of padding is fine. Not sure this would be a comfortable strap on a Les Paul or similar.5Good Quality, Locking Ends Are Great, But You'll Need A Wider Padded Strap For A Heavy InstrumentI love the locking strap ends. They work well and don't scratch the strap pins or the guitar body. The length is easy to adjust and the materials seem to be of high quality. I also liked that it was classy basic black and not some rainbow pride of colors, cannabis leaves, etc. This may be a five star guitar strap if you have a lightweight guitar. I have a medium heavy electric bass and the strap cut into my neck and shoulder area and caused a temporary pinched nerve, and that was when I was seated and a lot of the weight rested in my lap. It'd probably be torture to stand on stage for five hours with this strap supporting a heavy electric bass guitar. I got a wider padded strap cover to use with this strap and now it's very comfortable, even for three hour seated sessions.4Don't waste your money....buy a real strap lock.Because of the price, I bought 4 of these straps. 2 have failed after a year. In both cases the plastic piece that the nylon wraps around to attach to strap to the locking mechanism broke away allowing the nylon strap to fall away from the lock. Fortunately, I do 99% of my playing sitting down so there was no guitar tragedy associated with the strap failure.Pros- easy to use- clever concept- good price- EXCELLENT customer service from D'Addario when the first one failed.Cons- NOT a good fit on my acoustic/electric -- works but is really tight and I'll be changing to another locking method.- Two of my guitars do not fit well in their cases with the large locking mechanism.- Locking mechanism is uncomfortable against my wrist on my travel electric. (unique case)- Cheaply constructed...I'm a sitting player and gently place guitars in guitar stand between sessions....and it still broke. I'd hate to see how they fare under more stressful conditions.2Nice strap, but doesn't fit a Les PaulI like the locking mechanism on this strap. It feels secure, and it's pretty inexpensive. That said, it does NOT fit on my Les Paul. The distance between the strap-button and the neck of the guitar is too small to fit the hard-plastic end of this strap. And since it is hard-plastic instead of a soft leathery material, it can't be flexed to fit. Luckily, I also have a Strat, so it fits just fine on that since the strap buttons are not close to the neck. So.... good product, but make sure it fits your application. Knock off a star for not mentioning that in the product description.4Great Guitar strap- with locking mechanismI used to buy strap locks for all my basses, which can get pretty costly if you have 15 of them and need strap locks for all of them, cause you're a maniac with the bass onstage. This invention saves you money and time (installing the strap locks). Love it, works perfectly! Just wish they made cooler looking straps, like 3 ringed (heavy metal look) studded straps etc.Highly recommend it for the player that knows, if you don't have strap locks or a locking mechanism like this, it is not a matter of "if", it is a matter of "when" that strap is going to pop off the guitar and cause you grief. Not too mention being a n3wb.5Not too badI can't really put my finger on it, but there's something kind of strange about the 'polypropylene' part of this strap, at least compared to others that I have. It just seems to be a little less flexible, but it might be that the white color makes it appear a bit differently. It's not uncomfortable, but just seems to be slow taking the contours for the length I've set it at, if that makes sense. While I don't have any straps in as light of a color, I do have quite a few in all sorts of other shades. In the end, it may work out to be an advantage, if the strap lasts longer because the material is thicker or woven more heavily. Also, if you want a white strap, this one is REALLY (bright) white - I honestly wasn't prepared for that, because even a majority of synthetic fabrics seem to have some kind of gray, yellow, or slightly brown tint to them. IOW, this strap would probably look kind of funky with an "Olympic white" Strat or Tele.3I didn't get what I paid forI feel nastily cheated... When I bought the product I was expecting to receive a PLANET WAVES PLANET LOCK GUITAR STRAP, instead what arrived to my home and for what I had to pay 20$ for shipping (btw I live in Venezuela) was this D'Addario locking strap which it doesn't have the same and amazing lock system as a Planet Waves one, with this strap I don't feel safe and the most important I don't feel satisfied; anyways is not what I paid for, and I wish you could give me the strap that I bought or instead refund my money. Thank you and good night1Beware of the Locking Style StrapsThis review is for the locking style guitar strap. It appears that some, if not most, of the other reviews are for the conventional style strap. My present observation is that both style straps use the same collection of customer reviews. In fact, around a month ago I noticed that both styles of straps were being sold on the same web page. Regarding the locking style strap, when I attempted to install mine, I discovered that it would not attach to either strap button on my acoustic electric guitar. On my guitar the lower button is typical combination button and 1/4-inch electric pickup output jack. The diameter of the combination button is simply too large for the locking mechanism to close around it. The upper button is mounted on the heel, and its mounting position does not allow for the locking mechanism to engage at a perpendicular angle to fit over the button.I also attempted to install the strap on two other guitars. One was another acoustic electric and it had the same problems as described above. The other was a straight acoustic with a conventional style button on the bottom. It also had the same two problems.I also attempted to install the strap on to a button by itself. The fit was fairly tight and allowed almost no free play. Accordingly, the strap would likely fit if you have the suitable size button and if the mounting position of the button allows engagement without other interference.Other than the problem described, the strap appears to be well made. If the locking mechanism had fit, I would have likely given the strap five stars. In fact, the strap is likely still worthy of four or five stars if in the product description it had stated that this strap might not fit combination jack/buttons or buttons mounted on the heel of acoustic guitars.1It doesn't fit two out of three of my guitarsIF this fit my guitars, it looks like it would be fantastic. It won't fit my Taylor GS Mini or my SG electric. On the Taylor the connector is too wide and won't fit between the guitar strap connector and the body of the guitar. There isn't enough room and if I forced it, either the guitar or the clip would have to give. For my SG the guitar strap knob is too big to fit in the strap's hole. I ended up just putting it on one of my guitars that I rarely use because that one eventually fit. So... buyer beware. There is a very strong chance this may not fit your model guitar.1Don't buy thisI don't like writing bad reviews, but this one is necessary. I've been a performing musician for 40 years and never had a product fail like this one did. I loved it at first, locks on perfectly without any hassle. Last night I was playing a wedding, with a fairly lightweight bass too, and the plastic just snapped right off from the piece that's connected to the strap. The part over the strap peg stayed on the bass, that whole contraption though just broke in half. Impossible to fix. If I didn't have another strap I'd have been in trouble for the rest of the evening. Strap is only a couple of months old, and I only used it about 5 times (my other basses have straplocks on them). Irony of this whole thing is that the whole point of this strap is so that your instrument won't fall off. With this, it will fall off - and you won't even be able to put it back on again. Yes, I may have gotten one that was defective, but I don't think so. Looked fine. Plastic just snapped right in half.[edit] After reading some of the other reviews, I want to add that there is a chance what another reviewer is true. Perhaps this isn't a legit Planet Waves product, but a fake from this particular seller. I always believed them to have a solid reputation, but the strap I had was a cheap piece of garbage.1
