Customer Reviews

As scratched as the old screen! Was pumped that this product was available, but wished I had not purchased it once it was received. The new screen was as scratched and messed up as my original gameboy screen. You can see in the pictures a shoot of the "new" screen alone, a shoot of the "new" screen on the gameboy beside the old screen on the table... both scratched up. Super bummed about this product. Will be going back to the old screen because why not...1Does the job great. I needed one for my original game boyDoes the job great. I needed one for my original game boy, which I just put in an LED backlight kit for. The old screen was a bit scratched up so I needed a new one that I could actually see through. It was inexpensive and did the job. It does look used at first glance, but it does have a protective film that helps protect it from minor damage. If you peel that, then it should be fine unless there was a machine error or something else.5Docking one star because it wasn't brand newI don't think this product was new as stated. There were a few scratches on the screen, but it was much better than the screen that I had on my Gameboy. Prying the old screen off was very easy, as well as putting the new screen on. All you have to do is peel the paper off of the adhesive on the back and attach. I thought I would have to clean the gunk left over from the original screen, but the new one stuck fine. It would really be a hassle to try to clean all of that old, dried up, yellow glue. Definitely worth the 6 bucks. Docking one star because it wasn't brand new.4Works great and easy to replace!Works great and is easy to replace. If you got an old Gameboy with a bad looking screen, then this is what you need to have it looking good again.4Fantastic, looks great and is a one for one ...Fantastic, looks great and is a one for one match of the original. You will find that the plastic of the original Gameboy case has actually shrunk over time and that the corner of the Screen Lens may not fit in all the way. This is easily fixed by simply pressing down on the screen lens and then bending the Gameboy case ever so slightly. You should hear a pop and it is in. This will mean that you have to disassemble the Gameboy to make sure it fit well.5looks just like the originalI would recommend this screen lens for you if your screen lens is scratched and you are having trouble seeing the screen. i bought this to replace my old screen lens that was scratched very deep and there was no way to fix this. While you do this it would be a good time to clean your Gameboy with some baking soda and water mine was very yellow and when I tried this it made it look like new again. Most places will tell you to take a exacto knife and take off the old lens that is what it said to do in the instructions included but if you can I would definitely take it apart and remove the lens from the inside. Also once you get it off leave the thin layer of plastic on front so its like a screen protector. But overall I would highly recommend this if you own a original Gameboy because the screen is hard enough to see without scratches.5Not perfect but serviceableSlightly different shape from original screen, which meant it took some effort to get in there and ends up leaving a slim gap at the bottom. Not very noticeable but it's there. On the positive side the color is dead on and it looks great once you get it in.For those saying it looks scratched remember there are two layers of removable plastic on the front. The first is a very thick layer, the second is a much thinner layer. You must remove both.4Great replacementThis was a great, quality replacement for an old Gameboy with a missing screen lens. The size was spot on. Took a little work to remove adhesive backing so lens could be stuck on Gameboy. But, that is hopefully a sign that the adhesive is really good and lens will not fall off. Screen comes with a protective clear plastic film over the exterior lens surface, which protects it from scratches. Once installed, the clear film can be removed. Notice that the grey lens color is generally for the original grey Gameboy. I have a different red "Play it Loud" Gameboy and those lenses' borders are black in color. The dimensions are the same. But, if you want an accurate replacement for a "Play it Loud" gameboy, look for a black lens, not this grey one. When comparing this to an orignal Gameboy lens, the grey color seems a tad bit darker. Maybe the old Gameboy lens is just faded a bit...not sure. Regardless, the color was very close and this product exceeded my expectations. Make sure to clean the Gameboy faceplate well before mounting the lens. I'd recommend isopropyl alcohol to remove all old adhesive, contaminants, and oil from your fingertips that might affect the new lens' adhesive..5not worth the pricePros:free shipping?cons:lens was scratched when I peeled back the PROTECTIVE PLASTICS on both sides- guess that's what I get for shopping from China.I repair and restore DMGs as a hobby, and I've been doing so for 2 years now. usually, I get pristine lenses with flawless quality. it looks as if someone took this lens from an old DMG and stuck some protective plastic on it before mailing it off to me.TL;DRI'm not buying from this vender again.2Take your time, test fit before peelingWent to use on an original dmg and had to force it to fit and broke the glass in half. I'd buy again to retry but lost interest3
