Customer Reviews

Come haaaaaaaaaard!Well, Amazon nailed it. This is indeed a march of the hard brigade. This CD is a great compilation of hardcore/metal bands, some of them pretty new to the scene, some around for a few years. Slipknot (what disturbs me most about these guys is that they're from IOWA...) gets the blood flowing with "Wait and Bleed", Sevendust gets down with "Fall", and Powerman takes you back up in the rollercoaster with "Get On, Get Off". Coal Chamber does a decent job with "Tyler's Song", but lends no credibility to some folks' cracks of them ripping off Korn. Oh well, like the song says, "They don't give a damn..." The one downfall on the CD, I think, though, is Static-X's contribution; definitely not their best song, and if you've never heard 'em, you may find yourself saying "what the hell is this?" Overall, a great thumping comp, though, definitely a must-listen if you're looking for new hardcore bands.4Great, but not the Best "Scream"This is a great CD, but none of the music really reflects anything about the film. I am a HUGE Scream fan, and I currently own all of the soundtracks, and with the other ones you actually think about the movie when you listen to the music. I don't get that from this one. With the first Scream soundtrack, I had the "First cool hive"--Moby, with Scream 2 I had "She said"--Collective Soul. But when listening to this film's soundtrack, I don't have Ghostface, or Sidney, or Dewy or Gale, or anyone running through my mind as I listen to it. Now, don't get me wrong, it's a great CD with a bunch of great bands, and songs on it, it just doesn't have that Scream "attutude" about it the other ones do. I'd still reccomend it to any alternative fan, just not necissarily a Scream fan.5One killer soundtrack to Scream aboutI picked up this soundtrack as soon as it was dropped because it sported bands that I was really into at the time. I had just got into Orgy and Staind and so I was impressed with the line up here and figured, what the hell, I'll give it a try...and I was so glad that I did.1. What If - CreedCreed starts things off here with the heaviest song they had put out at the time, and while it has nothing to do with murder and more to do with politics, does that really matter? The song is in the right speed for this type of an album and so suits well. Great start.2. Wait And Bleed - SlipknotI hadn't heard anything by these guys at the time I got this album, I mean I had heard of them but never heard their stuff and when I heard this song I was blown away...so I went out a bought their self titled debut...AWSOME...the best they've ever done...3. Suffocate - Finger ElevenI love this band, and so when I saw that this was a new track by them I was so freaking excited. This song is great, nice guitar work, unique and intricate...good song and is also on their GoBS album...pick it up!4. Spiders - System Of A DownI was not a fan of SoaD when their debut CD came out, which is weird becasue I know love them and their debut CD to me is their best yet...but anyways, I guess that goes to show that taste changes. Thus, when I fist bought this CD I skipped over this song, now, I listen to it like crazy. This song is great with melodically chalenged vocals and great finger picking guitar work...love it...5. Automatic - American PearlNot the best here, but not the worst (thanks to David)6. Fall - SevendustGreat Sevendust track. These guys know how to turn out quality rock songs and they really know how to put on a live show, you should check them out! Pick up their 'Animosity' album, their best one to date.7. Time Bomb - GodsmackLove this song, love this band...this song is just freaking awsome...It's off their debut album which is still their best yet...You should pick that up as well!8. Tyler's Song - Coal ChamberI loved Coal Chambers 'Chamber Music' album becasue it showed their diversity. Tylers Song was a great track off the album, and although, again, this song has nothing to do with the movie (El Cu Cuy would have been a better song choice for a film about murder) it still has killer riffs and heavy vibe and just thrashes in your face.9. So Real - Static-XI love Static-X but this song gets on my nerves. It's just way to repetitive...It was the first song I had ever heard by them and so it was a while before i ever listened to them again, but after hearing their song 'Bled for Days' I was hooked. Get their debut 'Wisconsin Death Trip'...it's their best so far!10. Crowded Elevator - IncubusI'm an Incubus fan, loved their album 'SCIENCE'...this song sounds like it was recorded back then when they had a little more of a bite to them, now they are a little too comercial, but this song, and that album, has a lot more crunch to it. Great track!11. Debonaire - DopeI'm not a Dope fana nd wasn't when this album came out but 'Debonaire' is just one hell of an awsome song. It's too cool to skip over. Listen to it and you'll agree!12. Sunburn - FuelLove this band, but they are not heavy metal. Well, neither are alot of the bands here, but these guys aren't even heavy, and this song is weak...they had much better selections of their 'Sunburn' CD like 'Jesus or a Gun'...Pick up their 'Something like Human' album...Even though they went alot more mainstream it really works for them and they turned out a great, high quality album!13. Get On, Get Off - Powerman 5000Decent track, nothign special...And I was waiting for somthing killer from these guys having just come off the hight that was 'Tonight the stars revolt'...pick up that album for it will blow you away!14. Wanna' Be Martyr - Full Devil JacketAWSOME! It's really too bad that these guys have went their seperate ways because their debut album was so killer...every track was awsome and this song is one of the best...Perfect cut for this album...fits well with the serial killer topic!15. Dissention - OrgyOne of my favorite Orgy songs off their BEST CD ever, CANDYA$$!!! Pick up this album ASAP...This song has been cleaned up for this album with the lyrics "Don't waste my F@#$ing time" changed to "Don't waste my Precious time" but it's all good. Killer riffs, makes me wonder why these guys lost their edge and sold out...Oh well...we will always have CANDYA$$16. Crawl - StaindThe greatest band ever. Love this song. Pick up all their $hit, every one of their CD's...LOVE THESE GUYS!17. Click Click - Ear2000David david david...stick to acting (that of which your ok) but your band sucks so please stop putting out music!18. Is This The End - CreedThe best Creed song ever...Love it...slower than most the songs here but it packs a punch...These guys were never my favorite, and they got a lot of slack by the rock industry lovers but this song redeemed them to me. It's just that good.So all in all, while it has its slumps, this soundtrack turns out some amazing rock tracks and introduced me to some great bands. I hope it will do the same for you!5Unless you were into college radio, you probably missed this one altogether.... in that case, your loss.Scott Stapp's Wind-Up label got full rights to show off its talent on this album and easily created the best movie soundtrack since The Crow (the original one with Brandon Lee). What you have are rarities by veteran alt-rockers Sevendust, Incubus, and Staind, combined with energetic introductions to newcomers Full Devil Jacket, Dope and Orgy. While two Creed songs seem a little much, "Is This the End" is Creed at its most melodic, with Tremonti showing off his crisp note-picking style. "Click Click" by Ear2000 is a goof-off piece but somehow catchy once you get past David Arquette's attempt to scream like a rap-metaller (and leaves you wondering about shampoo... I mean, shaaaaaammmmmpooooooooo). I was fortunate enough to be a college DJ on KTRM (in the booming metropolis of Kirksville, Mo) when this hit our playlists, and man it was fun to send out there.5Big disappointmentWhen I heard who all was on the soundtrack for Scream 3 I flipped, I thought it would be so awesome. Man was I wrong, this is by far the most disappointing soundtrack ever made. First off I am no fan of Creed so I wasn't in a hurry to hear their two songs, second I'm no fan of Slipknot, but they tuned down Corey's vocals on "Wait and Bleed" making him sound like a wimp. And they edited Godsmack's "Time Bomb" which would have been the best song on the soundtrack (thanks Creed, in case you didn't know they were the executive producers), and that song by Ear2000 absolutely sucks (David Arquette from the Scream movies lends his vocals, and even thats edited too). The only good songs are by System of a Down and Full Devil Jacket, and they're on their albums, everything else just sounds like filler to me (the PM5K track is the most disappointing to me). If your a hard rock/metal fan, avoid this, it's a waste of money.1More Soundtracks Like This One, PleaseThis is an amazing soundtrack, with some of the best metal and hardcore bands out there today. However, if you're a big fan of this genre of music, then you probably have most of these songs on cd already, because the majority of them aren't new tunes. That's the only reason it gets 4 stars...I would just liked to have seen more new stuff by all these great artists, because the songs that ARE new are amazing, and totally worth buying the album just for them alone. And even if you're not a fan of Creed, you must admit they did a pretty damn good job of putting all these artists onto one album. Personal faves of mine are the songs by Finger Eleven, Incubus, SOAD, Static-X, Slipknot, Powerman5000, and Full Devil Jacket. So, if you have most of these artists on cd already, buy this soundtrack anyway, because the un-released material is worth every cent, and if you don't have most of these artists on cd, then you're missing a whole lot of talent, so AT LEAST add this one to your collection. You definitely won't regret it.4Hard core, baby!Dudes, this cd kicks. I was curious how all the artists would compliment each other on this disk, and I must confess, they blend together extrememly well. Artists like Slipknot, Creed, Static X, Fuel, and Incubus make this a must-have cd. My personal favorite is "Spiders" by System of a Down. The song is amazing in it's own rights. It starts out with a haunting guitar riff and the beautiful voice of the lead singer. I love it. Plus, the video is positively freaky. Another plus side. Don't ask how the song fits into the movie; I don't think that matters. In fact, none of the songs have anything to do with Scream 3; it's just an excuse to get some major arse kickin talent together and make one badass cd. Creed did an excellent job of compiling the artists and producing the album. So, if you like industrial rock, alternative rock, or just really like good music by some old talent--or new talent in American Pearl's case--this is THE cd for you. You will not be disappointed. If you are, just yell at me. But I guarantee it, this will become an instant favorite. Oh, yeah, Slipknot rules!5Why Can't All Soundtracks Be Like This?First of all, the movie sucked like we knew it would. Anyway, the soundtrack is amazing. I do own some of(most of) the songs (Slipknot, System of a Down, Full Devil Jacket, Coal Chamber, Orgy, Staind) but it offered me with some great tracks that I haven't heard from some of my favorite bands (Incubus, Static-X, Powerman 5000). It also introduced me to a few newer bands, like Ear2000 who I thought were okay, American Pearl who sound like Buckcherry, and Finger Eleven, who are like Our Lady Peace with a heavier groove. Otherwise, Creed sucks, especially here, and I really don't like the mixing for this CD. The songs don't flow like they should, but I'm not going into too much detail about that. Otherwise, this is almost as good as Strangeland.5Don't be fooledThe Slipknot song on here is NOT the Slipknot we know and love. The version of "Wait and Bleed" on here is a watered down, hollywood-ized, corporate bastardization of the great toon on their self-titled album, available now on Amazon.com! As for the other bands on here, they all sound like some record producer put a microphone in the bathroom stall of some record exec and recorded it for a movie and out came this album. The dude on the cover is hiding his face not because he kills people but because he doesn't want to be seen on a piece of poop. Creed bites, Godsmack stinks, Staind bores , Powerbutt 5000 used to be OK, and Sevendust, well, they just don't know any better. Good thing I only listened to someone elses because I wouldn't spend 15 bucks on this doo-doo.1Simply Put..........Unbelievable!when i first bought this album i really wasnt so sure about too many of the songs on here because honestly i hadn't liked or even heard of some of the bands on here. I wanted it basically for Slipknot's "Wait and Bleed" which i had heard on the radio alot, Creed"s "What If?" and The Godsmack, Fuel, and Powerman 5000 songs. What i got was a cd with only one really bad song on it, the rest are just pure rock/metal. The only mistake has to be Ear2000 because...........well you get the point! The Best songs here are Finger Eleven's "Suffocate", Slipknot "Wait and Bleed",Fuel "Sunburn", Sevendust "Fall", Coal Chamber "Tyler's Song" and Static-X "So Real". 5 Stars which makes me wish Wes Craven would stop all this bull, make another Scream just for the soundtrack.5
