Absolute MUST read for every person who lives in the United StatesEXCELLENT Book!!!!! My sister gave us this book and the Mystery of the Shemita. We had never heard of them before. Hubby read the Harbinger and could not stop talking about it while reading it. He kept wanting to tell me about the book, but since I had planned to read it after him, I didn't want him to spoil it for me. Every day he shook like a hyper Chihuahua dog because he wanted to talk about it so badly! Well, at least that was what it seemed like to me. When he finally finished the book, I finally got my turn at it.WHOA...... Unbelievable book. I could not put it down. It gave me goose bumps. It is written as a "story", narrated by the main character most of the time. But the details contained in the story are real and factual. A simple search on Google will confirm the details. Your own memory of recent events (9/11, the stock market crash, the fall of Lehman Bros, the housing crash, etc) will be a confirmation for you that the details are real. I never realized how these details were all related. But once the ducks were all in a row, it was impossible for me to deny.Once you read the book, you can decide for yourself if the author is on to something. My husband ended up buying this book on Kindle, as well as the Mystery of the Shemita, even thought the books were given to us for free. He then bought the "The Harbinger Companion With Study Guide: Decode the Mysteries and Respond to the Call that Can Change America's Future- and Yours" on Kindle. He said it too was really good. I am now reading the Companion book. It gives a lot more details of these current events. I'm glad I'm reading it.The "story" is simply the vehicle upon which to convey what the author wants to tell you. I felt the "story" format made the book easier to read. There are hard to deny truths in this book. Look back at our recent history, and it will make you shiver.5RepetitiousWhen I saw that it was almost five star rated, I couldn't wait to read this novel, however, two chapters in I was sorry I started reading. I have never read such a repetitive book. Things were explained over and over and over again, just changing the wording. I read about half of the book and gave up. It was tedious to say the least to have things repeated so often. The subject matter was interesting, however the author interpreted events to fit his scenario. He definitely took poetic license with most of it. I can't understand how so many were so intrigued by this.1September 11th and Isaiah 9:10I wasn't sure what to think about this book when it was recommended to me. The documented evidence suggests that September 11th 2001 and the years following parallel the experience that the kingdom of Israel went through about 732 B.C. That kingdom and its people had turned away from God and He punished them (as He'd warned them He would do)."See, I am setting before you today a blessing and a curse: the blessing, if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God, which I command you today, and the curse, if you do not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way that I am commanding you today, to go after other gods that you have not known." Deuteronomy 11:26-28His message was pretty clear to the people of Israel. The author has documented how all aspects of Isaiah 9:10 were fulfilled in Israel and in the U.S. after September 11th.It's an important message that should be read by Christians and those who are not.Unfortunately, the pace is so ponderous and the protagonist so reluctant to accept what he's shown that I doubt many people would have the patience to read all the way to the end of the book (hence 4 stars).4Could easily be a 5-star book, but becomes tedious quickly......This could be an awesome book, but it becomes extremely frustrating very quickly. It is a work of fiction eerily portraying parallels between 9/11 and God's judgment and destruction on the Northern Kingdom of Israel by the Assyrians, A reporter is sent an ancient clay seal and meets a man who calls himself a prophet who says there are nine more seals, and each contains a prophetic message concerning America's future. The information is fascinating, but is wrapped in far too much wording.to be enjoyable. The reporter is told that he must discover the clues behind each seal and figure out the warnings that the seals represent. The "clues" the "prophet" gives to help the reporter are responses so obtuse that they would make a Zen Master proud, a combination of Zen and verbal circular logic. It doesn't take long before you want to reach into the book and choke straight answers out of the "prophet". I've tried reading it twice and both times didn't make it halfway through before becoming to irritated and frustrated to read any further. Maybe you'll have more patience than I.Don't get me wrong, it could be a 5-star book if the author didn't play so many mind-games with riddles and would cut the long, wordy explanations of the seals when the "prophet" explains them and their meanings. My opinion, though........3New evidence regarding 911 may discredit or prove HarbingerAfter seeing so many reviews for Harbinger and seeing it on the shelf at the library, I brought it home to read. It was a fast read, so the two-week rental was more than adequate. Yes, it is repetitive. Yes, the conversations short and almost adolescent but for dramatic affect, so that is redemptive. The best part of the reading experience was learning so much history about Israel and running comparisons to America. Well-done in that aspect.Where the author loses me is the original narrative regarding terrorists from Iraq perpetuating the 911 attacks. The author goes full-force into that narrative when since the attacks, an extensive amount of evidence has been presented that it might not have been a foreign attack on domestic soil. (Remember how clean the towers fell? Straight down as if it had been a planned demolition.) With so much evidence leaning away from terrorism-at least originating from the Middle East-how does that change the prophecy in Harbinger? On one hand, it discounts the very foundation of the book. On the other hand, if the attacks were an inside job, the state of our country is in a far perilous condition than Cahn illustrates. An updated Harbinger is in order to address new evidence pointing away from middle eastern enemies and embracing domestic unrest, however, the book still receives 4 stars since it kept me engaged and thinking of possibilities long after I was finished reading. Worth the read...just keep in mind it is not a definitive prophecy because of its flaws,4Biblecal history foretelling the fate of a nation that's abadoning God. FASCINATING.A fascinating read. I saw the Rabbi on Glenn Beck and the story was so compelling I had to get the book. The structure of the delivery is just a bit clunky but, the story overwhelms any shortcomings in the presentation. A great comparison of ancient to modern times. I've not moved on the The Mystery of the Shemitah. If you have any interest in biblical history and what's in store for us in the future, this is a MUST read.4God Bless AmericaVery insightful. Once I started down the path with Nouriel, I couldn't wait to see what would come next. I became immersed in the history unfolding and of the future of our nation. Drove home the idea I already had that America's number one problem was removing God from our lives. Extremely well written and gave me a lot to think about.5A must read for every AmericanMy sister recommended this book to me, as we talked about the natural disasters if Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. I actually started reading it on September 11th, which made the events described in this book even more intense. I couldn't put it down, and just finished it the next morning. I hope to get more people to read it and take to heart the message here - that America must return to God. It is something I have been praying for for years, and especially in these last months. Our country has turned so far from God, that we are at each other's throats over politics and political correctness. We have lost sight of the God-given rights and ideals our country was founded upon. I pray that America returns to our Christian values before it is too late.5Astounding...My son first introduced "The Harbinger" to me on you tube. This book follows that documentary very well with enough more in-depth insertions that I felt it worthwhile to read the book along with watching the program. I am reminded of the quote..."For those who believe, no explanation is necessary. For those who don't believe, no explanation is possible." This is a fact-filled book. It is not fiction and not embellished. No need to give the stories away. No matter what you believe, about anything, give this book a try. Then pass it on.5Hope in the eternityA dear friend was so excited about this book. She heard her son, a minister preach on it. Her reaction just surrounded me with hope that god loves us and wants only our faith and love following the path to his heart. This was so uplifting and explains so much regarding the end times. This book tells us what we need to be and do pass the message,. I love the way the writer put it in a narrative, easy to read and understand,we are one heartbeat away from judgement.5
